AML with inv(16) or t(16;16)

By morphology, inv(16) or t(16;16) are associated with characteristic features: three different cell types can be recognized; blast cells, monocytic cells, and eosinophil. The eosinophils are often dysplastic, having abnormal eosinophilic granules, which are mixed with varying numbers of basophilic-staining granules.
